Hybrid Freestyle!

Hey longboarders, Finley Wegener is back from New Caledonia, unforyunately without footage.
The Hybrid 35 Freestyle has been started, it has become a very large production. I spent 5 HOURS just doing the intro. We are still shooting for all the freestyle vids (including the Hybrid one) but I'm looking at starting the editing on the Torpedo and Derringer videos next week.
Our old friend RAIN has come back and is eliminating skate spots as I write this, the Australian summer heat is a problem to. Even our rain-resource spot, the underground carpark from 'Time to Seek the Lord!' video is un-skateable thanks to a new Cafe that moved in above it that apperently doesn't like the noise of sliding.
We have all been working on some new tricks for the next videos; I have been improving my ramp, Joe has been working on his airs and Harry his downhill/sliding.
New boards may be coming in to the SSL family around Christmas, such as an Orginal Apex 37 2011, Comet Voodoo D2 and Comet Grease Shark.
As well as all of that, we have been getting requests for trick tips. Most of those requests will be filled, some of the ones we will be doing are; How to Shuvit Heavy Boards, Tips on Converting Tricks to Heavy Boards and How to Air on a Nose-less Tail-less Board.

New News

Whats up longboarders.
Soon there might be a break in our media posts because Finley (our blog writer) will be leaving for New Caledonia. Although there will be a break, Surf Skate Longboard has a lot on the horizon, like the Freestyle series, a unnamed video starring Harry Turner and Sam Tickner, maybe even a Surf Skate Longboard 2010 skateboarding video. This December we may also be widening our horizons to a new rider, Khan Gleeson, who is starting to ride. Also, there will be footage being shot in New Cal. for the Freestyle series/2010 skateboarding.

Session Review- Fin's Trip to Goomeri

Whats up longboarders, this week I traveled to the small town of Goomeri, for family reasons, but ended up spending most of the time skating. Goomeri and the surrounding towns are not longboarder-friendly, with rough roads and weak skateparks, if any. Ditches can be found here and there, and there are not many skateparks in the surrounding towns. I found 2. I do not recommend making this region a skate priority, the roads beat up you board if you stack, falling at 1kph can give you roadrash and the locals can be kinda freaky.
Overall, its not the best place to skate, but will suffice if you need to go there.

Footnote- while in Goomeri I failed to film or shoot any shots whatsoever, so there are no new shots coming.

Magpies at Cooroy Skatepark!

Lately there have been several reports from sources such as the kindergarteners across the road, the asian chip guy and others that reside in the area, that a pair of MAGPIES have built a nest above the hip. Finley Wegener witnessed these birds practice a nasty attack on two little kids. The good news is that these magpies seem to have kept most scooter riders away! Although there is now another reason to where a helmet, at least most scooter riders have been chased away.

Sesh Review, Photos Up Soon!

Whats up longboarders, yesterday Harry and Fin took off for a sesh at the good ol' Cooroy Skatepark. We carved some waves, landed some backside shuvits, slammed some bonelesses and overall shredded up the empty park. Later Joe turned up, he had a quick skate and then we all resided back at the Girvan house.

Hey

Hey guys, sorry there haven't been any posts recently. It's been raining, so no sessions, Finley got some red springs, we put the S8s on Joes derringer and the S6s on the hybrid. Might do a review on that later. Just wanted to post this so nobody thought we abandoned the blog.
